The Rama Redemption

An attempt to document my daily dietary routine for future reference of my future "old.alone.done for."-self.

18 Days: Day 8

Sunday, a week has already passed. I guess even after eating a bit more than usual, you don’t gain that much weight like you used to.

Damage Report:

Breakfast:

  • 1/4 footlong sandwich
  • 4 thin slices of meatloaf
  • 2 toasted bread
  • 1 fried egg

Lunch:

  • 7pcs of Fita
  • SmartC Lemon

Dinner:

  • 1 footlong sandwich
  • 4 pcs of adobo

18 Days: Day 7

Okay, after learning that I lost 8lbs, currently at 162… Decided to eat normally for this weekend since I’m way ahead of my scheduled weight loss. So time to take in a heavier calorie count per meal.

Breakfast:

  • 1 Apple

9am:

  • 2 slices of bread

11am:

  • 1 Orange

Exercise:

  • Basketball (shooting and a couple of light drills, 1 1/2 hours)

Dinner:

  • A large bowl of Kare-Kare
  • Chocolate Ice Cream

12am:

  • SmartC lemon (large)

18 Days: Day 6

Today did some exercise to go along with my diet. I think it’s a bit wrong, just maybe since my stomach felt acidic throughout the game.

Breakfast:

  • 1 Apple
  • 6 Spoons of oatmeal

Lunch:

  • Corn on the cob
  • 4pcs of Siomai

Exercise:

  • at least an hour of full-court basketball.

Dinner:

  • Creamy noodle soup
  • a Krispy Kreme Creations (bread with cheese and strip of bacon)

Had a very poor basketball game. I think it’s time to start improving on my “game”, if ever I have one. lol. 

18 Days: Day 5

Today wasn’t much of a struggle and surprisingly, wasn’t that much hungrier compared to the past few days. I think I’m getting used to this kind of diet or probably just still full cause of last night’s binge… either way, still feel great.

Today’s damage report:

Breakfast:

  • 2 carrots
  • 6 okra
  • 1 boiled egg
  • 1/8 piece of apple

Lunch:

  • a small bowl of Asparagus? not quite sure.

Dinner:

  • 2 pcs of chicken
  • 3 slices of bread
  • A sachet worth of BBQ Sauce

I noticed I wasn’t able to drink a lot of hot tea, although still continously drink a lot of water. BTW, just in case you were wondering, the chicken I’ve been eating is the breast part of the chicken. just fyi.

18 Days: Day 4

If yesterday was not that great, today would be a fucking mess.

Still, watch me. Today’s damage report:

Breakfast:

  • 2 slices of bread
  • 1 chicken
  • 1 apple

Lunch:

  • 1 corn on the cub with salt

3pm:

  • 1 pack of crackers

Dinner:

  • 4 bbq
  • 4 chicken intestines
  • 2 bottles of tanduay ice
  • 12 cigarettes
  • 1 lemon candy

I know, I know.. messed up my dinner pretty much, but trust me, there could’ve been a lot more casualities. Just those times we fall and get ourselves back up on our feet.

Let’s prove a point, a-hole. MAN UP!

either smoke a lot of cigarettes, or eat some sugary goodies… probably would do the former. watch out O.A.D.-self.

18 Days: Day 3

Only 2 things made my day.

Mariza’s joke on me needing a support group where she reiterated that I needed a bra.

The other one? Bulls win against the Pacers. 92-72. take note… Pacers, just 1 of 8 teams to beat the bulls as of today won at the UC couple of weeks ago 95-90. so yea, made me feel good.

But overall, today wasn’t so great. Made me think why I needed to diet in the first place. I mean it’s quite meaningless since you masochistically deprive yourself from those mouth-watering food you desire, and limit yourself to small portions of subpar food. My head started aching midway through the day, probably due to my empty stomach. So hungry that I stepped out of a meeting to go buy a spring roll around the corner of the street. Then again, my veteran-dieting persona took over and told me that it’s all worth it. END RESULT, SON. END RESULT. This road to redemption will definitely prove a lot of things which is why a lot of things are riding on this attempt, not only my being overweight. There’s a longer list of things to cross-out.

Well anyway, today’s damage report:

Breakfast:

  • 2 slices of bread
  • 1 apple

Lunch:

  • A pack of SkyFlakes (3 pcs)

3PM:

  • A vegetable spring roll

Dinner:

  • 2 BBQ (also ate the fat… -_-)
  • 1 orange

P.S.

I drink an average of 4 liters of water a day. most is at 6 liters.

And also, I don’t feel like anything is happening, except feeling weaker. LOL. This might be the last few documentations of my last days on this world. #jinxed

18 Days: Day 2

Today was the first real test to my diet, a normal work day. God, it’s such a scary world out there!  How was it possible that for the first time in all my dieting, I almost failed on the 2nd day? Just seeing a friend on foursquare check-in @ Mang Inasal got me starving like a crackhead in need of his fix. If Los Pollos Hermanos were real, I would’ve been at their doorstep asking for my fix. both crack and chicken! After which, one of our co-workers who came back from Japan bought 8 boxes of pizza for the whole company which was located at the pantry… WHERE THE ONLY SOURCE OF WATER CAN BE FOUND!

The scent of oil, cheese, and fried meat found it’s way straight right into my darn small nose. Plus the smell of barbeque-dripping chicken wings. they were both warm and the minute I stepped in front of that door step I knew it would be a battle. It was like the regular season game between the Bulls and Sixers earlier this morning. STRUGGLE! but if you’re a follower of the Bulls or the NBA, you know who won at the end of the buzzer. ;)

Anyway, today’s damage report:

Breakfast:

  • 2 slices of bread
  • An apple

11AM:

  • 3 SkyFlakes Omega-3 Crackers
  • 1  kisses-shaped nut candy
  • 1/3 nut-coated barquillo 

3PM:

  • 1 vegetable spring roll with vinegar

Dinner:

  • 2pc chicken (100g each)
  • 2 slices of bread
  • a bowl of vegetable soup (okra, squash, & ampalaya w/c I did not eat.)
  • An orange

Don’t have a weighing scale at home so will be updating my weight on a weekly basis.

Road to Redemption: First 18 Days

It’s been more than a year since I’ve plateaued on the 170lb mark, and every single month that came along, I’ve been constantly psyching and telling myself,

“You could easily lose weight any day you wanted to bro, so just Take it easy. Enjoy.”

365+ days later and… I’m still at 170. Yea I would lose 8-10lbs, on good weeks but I’d gain more than 15lbs on a binge/bad day. {all thanks to a handful of people.} So I decided to start today, yes, it’s my quarter-life year. Another attempt to become physically fit and healthy. Another excuse for the next couple of years so I could binge. Another chance to prove something to myself and to you, kind readers/followers, that an average Juan dela Cruz fatso like me can achieve their goals even if people say otherwise, or if no one even seems to care. Let’s prove to ourselves that we can do it and not to please anybody but to please ourselves and give us a much more positive output in life.

So before my journey oversees begins, I wanted to spearhead my “Road to Redemption” by doing an 18 Day Diet that would hopefully cut my weight down more than 10lbs.

Today I officially started my 18-Day Diet.

【The PLAN】:

The diet requires you just to keep your daily food intake under 500 calories.

plus,

  • No sugar (except my ketchup and bbq sauce)
  • No oil

【The FOOD】:

Earlier this morning, hitched a ride with my cousin & sister and asked to drop me off at a grocery store nearby. Didn’t bring much money so tried to budget my grocery for at least 2 weeks. Today’s grocery cost me roughly less than 1000php.

what I bought:

  • 8 pcs. of Apple and Oranges
  • 1kg of Chicken Breast Fillet (chopped into 100g each)
  • 2 loaves of sugar-free bread
  • 3 bundles of okra (around 12pcs per pack)
  • 3 bundles of carrots (4pcs each)
  • Whole wheat saltine crackers

That’s about it.

This will basically what you will only eat on the next 18-Days.

Today’s Meal:

Breakfast:
  • 2 slices of toasted sugar-free bread
  • 1 apple
Lunch:
  • 1 pc of chicken (100g) seasoned with salt, pepper, & basil
  • 2 small squeezes of bbq sauce
  • 6pcs of okra (boiled)
  • 2pcs of carrots (boiled)

Eating a lot less than normal during meals is making me very hungry. so decided to have a snack.

Snack:
  • Whole wheat saltine crackers
    Dinner:
    • 1 pc of chicken, same as the one for lunch
    • 1 packet of ketchup
    • 2 slices of sugar-free bread
    • 1 orange
    • Hot plain lemon tea

    So this is where my journey starts. let’s see how far I can push myself, physically.

    By the way, Future Kevin, if you were successful to lose 10+ lbs, you will reward yourself basketball/running shoes for your gym/workout activities BEFORE you journey the open seas! SO SUCK IT UP AND SAVE, BOY!

    Day 1.

    Binged for the past 2 days over burgers, pizzas, cakes, chocolates, korean food, etc. bloated from 167 to 173.

    Current weight: 170lbs.

    So decided to finally take that road to redemption. 行きましょう!
